Taste of the NFL is returning to Minneapolis and a taste test is coming to St. Stephen’s!
Since 1992, the Taste of the NFL (TNFL) has rallied the country’s top chefs and the NFL’s greatest players to raise money in support of food banks throughout the United States. Edina resident and culinary entrepreneur, Wayne Kostroski, founded the TNFL when Minneapolis last hosted the Super Bowl. For over 25 years this effort has raised awareness about hunger throughout our country and generated millions of dollars. The largest event, a Party with a Purpose®, is held on the eve of the Super Bowl and proceeds are donated to a food bank in the Super Bowl host city. This year, Taste of the NFL returns to it’s birthplace with the 2018 Super Bowl.
The Outreach Committee is proud to host Wayne Kostroski at the first Adult Forum of the 2017/18 church year on Sunday, September 17. Wayne will describe the founding and history of Taste of the NFL and his experience viewing hunger needs throughout the United States. Since it’s founding, TNFL has raised over $25 million but the need is still great.
During this Forum, the Outreach Committee will also highlight our parish’s continued commitment to supporting efforts aimed at eradicating hunger in our community.
September is Hunger Action Month, a time we stand together and speak with one voice to spread the word about the hunger crisis. The economy may have improved since the last recession, but the recovery is still leaving many Americans behind. In fact, more than 46 million people still turn to food bank networks each year for support.
Come and hear how YOU can get involved in St. Stephens’ outreach ministries focused on hunger. Together, we can make an impact in ending hunger in America.
