We think it’s a big deal when someone is ready to connect to our community here at St. Stephen’s and we seek to make it as easy as possible. The following process is designed to help you and your family explore membership with our parish and, when ready, to join us as a full member. If, at any time, you have questions, our clergy, Rev. Tom Cook and Rev. Lisa Wiens Heinsohn, would be pleased to speak with you.
|Do you have questions about life at St. Stephen’s?
Start Here! is an informal opportunity for visitors to learn more about St. Stephens the last Sunday of every month following our Sunday morning worship services. Join us in the Chapel to chat with a member of our parish and clergy. It’s your time! We can share information, answer questions or give you a tour.
|Ready to explore membership more deeply?
A St. Stephen's Welcome is our membership conversation opportunity for discussion and deeper exploration with our clergy about faith and ministry in the church. The session covers several topics including the St. Stephen’s Community and Ministry, as well as topics related to the Episcopal Church within the Christian Faith.
Next Opportunity: Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 11:15 AM - 12:30 PM Sign-Up Here
Following completion of Membership Conversations, our new members are welcomed into the parish on New Member Welcome Sundays which are held several times a year during Sunday morning worship.
Next Opportunity:Sunday, July 29, 2018.
Any baptized person can join St. Stephen’s by expressing their desire to do so to the Rector. If you have not been baptized into the Christian faith and you would like to be, contact our Rector, Rev. Tom Cook. What is needed to be a member of our parish? Membership is formed and maintained by taking part in the life of the parish in the following ways –
- Attending worship regularly
- Offering your talents and skills to others
- Contributing to the financial support of the church, usually through an annual pledge
If you come to us from another faith tradition or even another Episcopal church, there are many ways to learn more about our Anglican heritage and our church home here at St. Stephen’s. Confirmation and Reception into the Church can be meaningful ways to deepen your connection and further your spiritual journey. Contact out Rector, Rev. Tom Cook, for more information.
If you have questions, please contact any of our clergy or staff and we will be delighted to help you get connected.
