Programs Designed with Kids and Families in Mind. The mission and vision of St Stephen’s Children’s Ministry is to empower young children and their families to know and follow the way of Jesus in their daily lives. We are a multi-generational learning community that helps kids explore and experience belonging, service with others, and Jesus’ way of love, in order to grow in faith and bring these gifts to the world in the power of God’s Spirit.

  • Creative Bible Teaching. We strive to bring the stories of the Bible to life through activities and discussions that keep children engaged.
  • Relationships. We value children’s relationships within the small group setting as they relate to their leader and other kids in the group.
  • Age-Appropriateness. Our lesson materials are created in a way your child will understand.
  • Fun! We realize that when children have fun at church, they can’t wait to come back. We value creating fun ways for children to learn about Jesus, including games, activities, and singing.

Worship that’s perfect for kids! In Children’s Chapel, we develop a routine of worship that is age-appropriate and fun. The routine includes gathering, learning the seasons of the church year, prayer, singing, and engaging with the same scripture that is heard in the big church. Children may be dropped off in the Chapel prior to worship. They will rejoin their families at The Peace in time to share in Holy Communion.

God Squad is a community for kids to make friends in their age groups and engage with Sunday’s bible stories through storytelling, art, games, music, and science! It is through scripture that we get to know one another, God, and ourselves more fully.

Wed 6:30-7:00 PM | Grades 2-12 | Nave

Kids in grades 2 through 12 enjoy a music curriculum that includes elements of music theory, note reading, and harmony singing for a fun and challenging experience! Kids perform at worship and special music presentation opportunities throughout the year.

This year we will quest through Jesus’ life, engaging with many stories from his life through the resurrection. We will build community with others as we learn more about who Jesus is and how we are meant to follow his example to live a life of love. We will do this with a little bit of prayer and a whole lot of fun!

Volunteers          Volunteer online here

Volunteers are the heart of our Children’s Ministries. There are MANY opportunities in our programs for all types of volunteers. We need administrative assistance, caring adults to work in our nursery and in all programs, as well as adults to help with special events throughout the year. There’s an opportunity for YOU no matter what day of the week or how frequently you are available.

The BEST WAY to get connected to the right ministry for you is to reach out to Missy Greene. She will help you find a place where you can share your gifts with the kids of our parish.
