High energy programs for deepening faith and friendships
St. Stephen’s is an inter-generational community and we seek to involve kids in all aspects of parish life, including full participation in Sunday worship. We welcome kids to participate actively in services whether they are in the pews or, better yet, through serving as an Acolyte or Reader (Lector).
Meets: Sundays @ 10:10 am (Ark Rooms, Lower Level Education Wing)
Our Sunday Club program is designed to help kids in this age group find and follow Jesus while having fun.
Each week we –
- start our time off with MUSIC for all ages! Kids get some easy to follow music education while learning songs they will share during worship services throughout the church year.
- separate into age groups to learn an age-appropriate Bible lesson and enjoy accompanying games and activities to reinforce the lesson.
- Provide a take-home sheet for families to review together, so parents are able to continue the conversation at home.
Meets: Wednesdays @ 6:30-8:00 pm (Ark Rooms, Lower Level Education Wing)
Through physical play, crafts, and storytelling grounded in Christian tradition, older elementary school children will learn to explore faith through the metaphor of a journey – one that is constantly growing, challenging, and changing. Like Abraham and Sarah setting out for unknown territory upon receiving God’s call, the people of Israel following Moses out of slavery and into the wilderness, and the disciples leaving everything to follow Jesus, children will learn what it means to follow God wherever God leads them.
See the Safe Church Practices page for details on St. Stephens’ policies and procedures.
