Safe Church Practices/Policies

Here at St. Stephen’s we have a Safe Church Program with policies and procedures for the protection, safety, and well-being of children and adults involved in the life and ministries of our congregation. As the Baptismal Covenant in The Book of Common Prayer reminds us, we have promised to “seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving [our] neighbor as [ourselves]” and to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.”

The intention of these policies and procedures is to establish and uphold guidelines so that St. Stephen’s will be a safe place for all people, from the youngest to the oldest, and so that the sick and infirm who are unable to come to our facilities can have their needs ministered to appropriately and safely.

Our pastoral care teams and all leaders who work with our youth and children are trained in these Safe Church policies and procedures.
