The Outreach Ministry of St. Stephen’s exists to answer the call of Christ by recognizing and alleviating human needs beyond the doors of our parish.

 

Episcobuilders – Seven western-metro congregations of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota comprise this network with a mission to rehabilitate and restore homes for those in need.

 

Grant Community Nursery School – The mission of Grant Community Nursery School, located on the near north side ofMinneapolis, is to help encourage low-income preschool children (age 4) to develop basic school readiness skills while fostering positive self-identity, and self-esteem. We support this ministry 3 days a week from 9:30-11:30 a.m. For more information contact Betsy Nelson.

 

Loaves and Fishes – Each year we serve five nutritious, delicious dinners to our neighbors in South Minneapolis. This is a flexible ministry, where you can volunteer once a year, or every time. All abilities are welcome to help prepare, serve, and/or clean-up. Each shift lasts one to four hours and you can pick from any of the dinner dates listed below. Dress casually – this is hands-on work! Contact Andy Otness if you are interested in helping.

 

The Michelle Project – The mission of the Michelle Project is to serve families in transition. Through Episcopal Family Services, we offer professional guidance to families who are homeless, living in substandard conditions, or who may be enduring abusive circumstances. Rebuild Resources – The mission of Rebuild Resources is to help addicts and alcoholics become sober, self-sufficient and of service by providing meaningful, transitional employment in business enterprises they own and operate.

VEAP is the largest food shelf in Minnesota, serving low-income families, individuals, elderly and disabled persons in the communities of Bloomington, Edina, Richfield, and South Minneapolis (South of 50th St. and West of Cedar Ave).
