All Souls’ Day – Observed Saturday, November 2nd at 12:00 PM
We will observe All Souls’ Day, known liturgically as the Feast of All Faithful Departed, with a special midday worship service.
12:00 PM Holy Eucharist | Nave
During this service, we name all those persons buried from St. Stephen’s Church since All Saints’ Day 2017. We pray by name for all those whose remains are laid to rest there. The service is a time of peaceful remembrance and holy grieving. While solemn in tone, this service is hopeful, caring and it provides an opportunity to peacefully remember and grieve without the work and stress that often surround a funeral. You are invited to bring tokens of remembrance for loved ones to our service to share on the altar.
All Saints’ Day – Observed Sunday, November 3rd at 9:00 & 11:15 AM
The Feast of All Saints, when we remember ordinary Christians who did extraordinary things to follow the way of Jesus, will be observed soon. Services will include naming, in prayer, all departed of St. Stephen’s Church or buried by St. Stephen’s clergy since All Saints Day 2018.
- You may submit names of departed friends and family to be included in these prayers by sending names by Monday, Oct. 28 to Deen Hubin.
- Attention kids and parents! ALL children are invited to dress up as their favorite saint or hero on November 3, at both the 9:00 and 11:15 AM worship service, and process with our clergy and the worship team up the aisle to the altar. Start thinking about which saint you will be and get those costumes ready! Please arrive at 8:45 AM, dressed in costume, to get ready to process.
- Consider a donation to the church’s Flower Fund in memorium – these flowers will decorate the church for our service. Submit an envelope including names and a check in any amount payable to St. Stephen’s Church, marked “All Saints’ Flowers” by Monday, Oct. 29.
