Parish Choir Concert & Reception

Sunday, April 29 | 2:00 PM
Fresh from their return from singing as a part of the Distinguished Concerts Singers International at Carnegie Hall on April 15, our Parish Choir will present their spring concert featuring Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo, the piece performed in NYC, and Song of Wisdom from “Old Turtle.”

Jubilate Deo brings to life the global aspect of the traditional Psalm 100 text, “O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands,” by setting it in seven different languages and drawing from a wide spectrum of musical influences. The Parish Choir will be joined by orchestra in the performance of this ambitious and power piece.

Song of Wisdom from “Old Turtle”, based on the beloved book by Douglas Wood, is an experience which is not only heard but felt by the soul. The many characters and moods of the book come alive through the music of chorus and narrator.

Join us after the concert for a festive Dessert & Punch Reception in the Commons Room.
