What You Need to Know

What age range of children can attend VBS?
Children who are age 3 by 6/2/2017 (child must be potty trained) through those who have completed Grade 4 (entering Grade 5 in Fall 2017) are welcome to participate. Parents should be available to stay in the building if child has problems separating.

Can older kids take part in VBS?
YES! Students who have completed grade 5 or higher are welcome to join in the event. We would love to put you on a crew where you can help younger kids enjoy the VBS experience. Volunteer today!

Do you have to attend St. Stephen’s to come to VBS?
Friends are welcome and you do not need to be a member of St. Stephen’s. All are welcome here! You may pick up special invite cards at church to invite a friend to join in the fun.

How much does VBS cost?
The cost to participate is $50 per child. Scholarships are available. Contact the Rev. Lisa Wiens Heinsohn for more information.

We gratefully accept donations to defray the costs and provide scholarship funds. If you are able, you may add your donation, in any amount, at the time you make your payment. Thank you!

How are the children grouped at VBS?
Children are assigned to “crews” based on age. They will be in preschool or elementary crews accordingly. If your child just completed preschool, they will be placed in the Preschool track.

How can I let you know about my child’s allergies or medical conditions?
There is a spot in the registration process for you to let us know if your child has any allergies or medical concerns. If your child has a food allergy, we ask you to provide their daily snack. More details will be available in our final VBS letter.

Can parent’s participate in VBS?
Yes – We love volunteers!   Volunteer today!
We anticipate having a big group of children at St Stephen’s during VBS – what a gift! We love to have parents, grandparents, guardians, or friends share their time and talents. You may volunteer online for any of the opportunities we have available.

There are many things that need to be done prior to the week of VBS, so working parents will have the opportunity to get involved too. We appreciate your willingness to support this program!
