Following Community Dinner, join us for a four-part exploration of the book, Being Mortal throughout the month of October. Author Atul Gawande calls for a change in the way that medical professionals treat patients approaching their end of life. He recommends that instead of focusing on survival, practitioners should focus on improving the quality of life and enabling well being.
If you would like to discuss/process these issues, and how they might translate into your personal end of life wishes, please join us. Each week participants will read a few chapters of the book and then we will meet on Wednesday nights to explore the questions posed and recommendations made by the author as our facilitator, parishioner Janny Gothro, guides participants through large and small group discussions.
Register for the Book Study Group and purchase Being Mortal. You may also visit the Connections table on Sunday, Sept 15 or 22, between morning worship services in the Gathering space to register and purchase a book.
