All Are Welcome
A warm welcome to you from the clergy, staff, and parishioners of St. Stephen’s Church! We are a thriving Episcopal community of Christians who come together seeking inspiration, comfort, guidance, companionship, and opportunities to share God’s love. Our church life together is vibrant and we welcome visitors with open hearts and arms. If you have questions about our community, the tenants of our faith, baptisms, weddings, or how to get involved, please ask!

Get Directions
While our parish does not have a parking lot, there is parking available at the Utley Park and Wooddale Park lots across the street from the church. On Sunday mornings, we have several reserved parking spots for visitors located in the parking bay of the church on 50th Street. Street parking is available on Wooddale and in the neighborhoods that surround the church.
What To Expect
We welcome everyone.
St. Stephen’s is a community open and welcoming to everyone no matter where you are in this journey of life. Our members come from many faith backgrounds, experiences, and beliefs.
What is worship like?
In the Episcopal Church, we use formal prayers and liturgy and worship is very active. Often we’ll sit for one part of the service, stand for another, and kneel in between. We encourage you to participate without any concern for “doing things correctly.” Everything you need to know to fully participate will be provided in a detailed worship bulletin so you can easily follow along and enjoy worship.
May I bring my kids to church?
We love to see (and hear!) kids in church! Families make their own decisions about having their children with them in church or, if attending our 10:15 AM worship service, choosing to bring their children to our professionally staffed Nursery or Children’s Chapel. Families are welcome at all of our worship services.
Do we have to get dressed up?
You’ll see everything from jeans to suits here so dress in a way that is most comfortable to you.
What We Believe
Drawing equally on Scripture, Tradition, and Reason as the basis of our theology, the Episcopal Church is one of the most welcoming and affirming of all Christian denominations. We are delighted that our members hail from all faith backgrounds and walks of life and bring with them a diverse range of theological ideas, finding common ground in the community of the Episcopal Church.
The core beliefs of Episcopalians are simple and shared across all Christian denominations: We believe in God, in Jesus Christ the Son of God, and in the Holy Spirit.
The characteristics that make the Episcopal Church unique are not found in rigid shared positions or specific theological regulations, but rather our belief that each person is traveling their own faith journey and only they can arrive at the conclusions that dictate their ideas and practices. In this spirit, our organization is run by both laypeople and clergy, rather than an elite council or ruler. The Episcopal Church is truly a church of the people.
