Creation Care Spring Event

Waste Less, Live Well

How can we live more sustainably and faithfully in our everyday lives?

Join us for this year’s Creation Care Spring Event, Waste Less, Live Well, a practical and inspiring conversation about reducing waste, supporting our neighbors, and caring for God’s creation.

A panel of local experts will introduce simple, impactful ways to keep usable items out of landfills and into the hands of those who need them. You’ll learn about community programs, donation opportunities, and creative ways to reuse and share resources – plus gain access to a helpful directory to continue your journey.

This is a meaningful (and manageable!) way to live out our call to care for the earth, strengthen community connections, and support families in need. Whether you’re new to sustainability or already engaged, there’s something here for everyone.

Panel Highlights Include:

  • A representative from Hennepin County’s Choose to Reuse program sharing about Fix-It Clinics and Swap Events (toys, tools, clothing, household goods, and more)
  • Connie Brekken on the Friends of the Edina Library Annual Book Sale and her longtime work with Bridging, which provides donated furniture and household goods to families transitioning into stable housing
  • Missy Greene introducing the Buy Nothing Project—a gift economy where neighbors give, borrow, lend, and build community connections
  • Henry Brantingham offering insight into why landfills are so expensive and toxic

There will be time for questions, conversation, and practical next steps. Come discover how small changes can make a big difference – for our planet and for one another. 🌱
