Schubert with Clara Osowski and Timothy Lovelace

Schubert with Clara Osowski and Timothy Lovelace

Concerts by the Creek welcomes mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski and pianist Timothy Lovelace for an intimate evening of song celebrating their new album, Schubert Lieder.

Recorded in Minneapolis, the album brings Osowski and Lovelace together for 19 songs by Franz Schubert—some familiar, others lesser known—that showcase the remarkable range of one of the great composers of Lieder. Across the collection, the music moves effortlessly between tenderness and longing, playfulness and energy, and moments of striking drama and reflection.

Osowski’s expressive attention to text and elegant phrasing are paired with Lovelace’s lively and sensitive playing, allowing voice and piano to work together as equal partners in telling each song’s story. The result is music that can be intimate and reflective one moment, spirited and dramatic the next.

Learn more about Clara Osowski and Timothy Lovelace on our Concerts by the Creek artist bios page.

Join us for the opportunity to hear these two exceptional musicians share the music of Schubert and celebrate their new recording in a space wonderfully suited to its expressive beauty.

This concert is presented free of charge through the generous support of the Matson Music Fund. While admission is free, reserved tickets are required.

HISTORIC ST. STEPHEN’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

This event will take place in historic St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. This beautiful building was built in 1937 when the new Country Club District of Edina was forming. As the first protestant church in Edina, St. Stephen’s was and remains a true community church nestled into the surrounding neighborhood on the banks of Minnehaha Creek.

Signs will be posted directing you to the event location. View GPS navigation through Google Maps.

PARKING

St. Stephen’s Church does not have an onsite parking lot. Parking is available in the public lots connected to Utley and Wooddale Parks just West of the church. Street parking is also available. This means you may have to park a short distance away from the church and walk. We strongly encourage carpooling, use of ride services such as Uber/Taxi, and taking public transportation.

There is a bus stop directly opposite the church entrance. Bike parking is also available onsite.
