Maundy Thursday is the beginning of our three-day journey through Jesus’ last days. We recall Jesus’ greatest commandment to us: to love others as God loves us. We remember the Last Supper and we strip the altar in preparation for the bleakness of Good Friday.

This service is for all ages. We will hear the story of Jesus’s last night with his friends and celebrate communion together.

5:45-6:45 PM     SOUP SUPPER // Gathering Space
Many Christian communities share a simple meal before or after the Maundy Thursday Eucharist as part of the commemoration of the two maundys, or commandments, of the Lord – to “love one another” and to break bread “in remembrance of me.” This year, we hope you’ll join us before or after worship services in a community Soup Supper. Maundy Thursday marks the beginning of the Triduum, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, in which our worship flows in one continuous liturgy, beginning with the Maundy Thursday service.  “Time is suspended as we ponder and celebrate the great mysteries of our redemption.” Worship includes foot washing and at the conclusion of the liturgy, the altar is stripped of all adornments.
