Birthday Bag Drive

Help a family celebrate a big day in a big way!
Join us in support our outreach partners at Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery (GMCN) during our Birthday Bag Drive.
As a part of their services, GMCN provides overnight care for young children (newborns through age 6), while parents address their crisis situations. Many of these families arrive without some of the basic necessities needed to care for their children. In these circumstances, recognizing a child’s birthday is a luxury that most can’t afford. Every child should feel special on their birthday and through your donations, we can help make that happen.
This will be an all-parish effort as we collect items for the birthday bags throughout the month of May. Then, our VBS Kids will be packing up the bags during VBS week as their service project!

You may easily purchase needed items off our Amazon Wish List. These items will ship directly to the church.
PURCHASE ITEMS AND DROP THEM OFF AT CHURCH
If you would like to shop for items on your own, use the following list to guide your purchases and then bring your donations to church by Friday, May 31st. Donations may be left in the marked tubs at the church entrances.
Items Needed
- Boxes of cake mix (chocolate, vanilla, marble or “confetti)
- Tubs of frosting (chocolate, vanilla, or “confetti”)
- Candles for birthday cakes (packages of 12 preferred)
- Sprinkles in a “shaker” (not the tubs)
- Birthday napkins (in packages of 10-12 preferred)
- Birthday plates (in packages of 10-12 preferred)
- Square or round disposable cake pans
- Birthday themed gifts bags, gender neutral (we are looking for a variety of styles and sizes; please get bags big enough to hold all of the cake items + room for a gift)
