The Rev. Maryellen Garnier

Maryellen was born in Minnesota, receiving her RN prior to moving to California, where she worked in a variety of nursing specialties. Sensing a call to ordained ministry, she attended the Church Divinity School of the Pacific and was ordained a priest. She served in four parishes in the Diocese of El Camino Real while also serving as the Director of Spiritual Care at a hospital in Silicon Valley. For eight years she was an associate priest in a church in the Diocese of Northern California. After their son Josh met and married a Minnesota girl, and moved with her back to Minnesota, the arrival of two granddaughters prompted Maryellen and her husband Gary to do the same. They began attending St. Stephen’s in 2020 where they found a welcoming home.
