Lent Madness

Lent Madness

The Saintly Smackdown is back!

The bracket is packed with big names. The matchups can be intense. Individual results may hinge on last-minute momentum shifts. And in the end, only one competitor claims the title of champion. March Madness? No, this is Lent Madness, and the saint who outlasts them all will be crowned with the Golden Halo.

What is Lent Madness?

Lent Madness is a friendly “competition” by which we learn about the saints in the season of Lent. 32 saints are placed into a tournament-like single-elimination bracket. You complete your own bracket with who you think will win each match-up. Participants from all over the world vote online at lentmadness.org and the voting determines who wins the coveted Golden Halo award in 2024.

There is no cost to participate, but bragging rights are at stake so get cracking! The St. Stephen’s contestant with the most points at the end of our parish Lent Madness competition wins the undying adulation of an amazed and supportive congregation. And maybe a special prize or two…

ALL AGES are welcome to participate! Here’s how…

1. Download or pick up a bracket. You may download a bracket here or at lentmadness.org. You may also grab one off one of the Connection tables located in the Narthex or down at Lent Madness Command Central (aka the bulletin board outside the Commons room) on Sunday mornings.

2. Fill out your bracket. Write your name and email address on your bracket. To learn all about the saints vying for the Golden Halo this year, you can visit lentmadness.org or hit up Google. Or, download this document full of info about this year’s saints (WARNING: This document is 66 pages long so think before you print!)

3. Submit your bracket.
To submit your bracket this year
