Parishioners from St. Stephen’s Church will be returning to Holy Cross Anglican School (HCAS) in Belize in 2024. Our parish has served with the school since 2007, most recently in January of this year when a nine-person team, led by Jim Bizal and Rev. Tom Cook, headed down to the school. See photos from this trip here.
Parishioner Jim Bizal, who also serves on the board of the Holy Cross Foundation, and his son Zack Bizal invite all parishioners to join them on a trip to HCAS May 11-20, 2024. “This is a ‘bonus’ trip in 2024 for everyone, age 18-80,” shared Jim. “The new Church/Community Center is well on its way to completion. We hired a contractor to complete the concrete main structure of the building. We need volunteers to complete the roof, decks, stairs, and other wood components.”
The team hopes to help complete the Church at the school in time for the retirement of Ms. Tasher, the school’s long-standing principal. “Our goal is to have her last graduation class in the new building in late June,” shared Jim.
This opportunity is one that anyone can enjoy, regardless of construction skill or experience. The cost of the trip is $2,500.00. This amount includes airfare, hotel, meals, all ground transportation, and a donation to the school.
If you are curious about this opportunity and want to learn more, please contact Jim Bizal.
