Outreach Ministries

St. Stephen’s has a rich history of reaching out in love in the Twin Cities metro area and beyond. Our missional life is grounded in our identity as followers of Jesus, who calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves. In response to God’s goodness in our lives, we work hand-in-hand with our partners to share the gifts God has given us, individually and communally, with those in need.

We believe there are many ways to answer the call of Christ to recognize and alleviate human suffering beyond our own doors. We answer this call by supporting our partners through service and financial means. Our parish support focuses on partner ministries who serve in our four main focus areas – Hunger, Housing, Youth, and Seniors.

Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative
An inter-denominational partnership of congregations committed to making sure all people have a home.

A partnership with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity to provide housing in the Twin Cities metro.

First Nations Kitchen
A partnership with 7 metro area Episcopal Churches to support an organization providing meals to indigenous people who would not otherwise have access to high-quality, fresh organic food.

Holy Cross Anglican School, Belize
An international mission to support the school through service in construction, maintenance, teaching, and more!

Loaves & Fishes
A partnership with a program whose mission is to provide nutritious meals to those facing hunger in Minnesota in an atmosphere of hospitality at site locations where the need is greatest.

Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP)
A partnership with a basic needs and social services organization whose programs promote access to healthy foods, stable housing, and other supportive services.

Each year, our Outreach Committee awards grants to a number of organizations. Our grant funds come from the proceeds of annual fundraiser events and those given through our endowment, the St. Stephen’s Fund. Preference is given to requests from organizations in which St. Stephen’s parishioners are involved and whose focus is aligned with our parish outreach focus areas.
