Our Compass adult formation spring season closes with two stories of Courageous Women in Dangerous Days.
Part 2: The Story of Abigail and David
David and his band of warriors are fleeing from King Saul, who seeks to kill him. Yet David faces an even greater danger from his own bloodlust; he wants to take his vengeance and commit mass murder, thus defying Yahweh-God.
Who will rescue Israel’s future king from his own evil intentions? The hero of this tale is Abigail -a woman of immense courage and action, sent by God to save David (and, thereby, all Israel) from one of his greatest temptations in the wilderness. Will we, too, find courage in dangerous days?
ABOUT COMPASS ADULT FORMATION
Compass, led by Joyce Denham, is our Sunday morning Adult Formation class in which we study the literature of the Bible as our compass for life. Compass is for everyone at St. Stephen’s, and beyond. Invite others! It’s a place to make friends, laugh, and stretch our minds, as Joyce unravels the narratives and poetry of the Bible to discover what they have to say to us today. No registration is needed.
