Invitation to Confirmation or Reception with the Episcopal Church
“Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. It is required of those to be confirmed that they have been baptized, are sufficiently instructed in the Christian faith, are penitent for their sins, and are ready to affirm their confession of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.” — from An Outline of the Faith of the Episcopal Church (otherwise known as the Catechism)
Are you new to the Episcopal Church? Have you come from a different denomination of the Christian faith or from a different faith altogether? Have you been a part of the Episcopal Church for a while but never been Confirmed or Received by our Bishop?
Then this offering for exploration of the Christian faith and the Episcopal Church is for you!
All persons active in the Episcopal Church are expected at some time to make their Confirmation or, if already confirmed in another denomination of the Church, to be Received by an Episcopal bishop. If you have questions about Confirmation or Reception in the Episcopal Church, please contact Rev. Tom Cook for further discussion.
The next opportunity for Confirmation or Reception in the Episcopal Church: Saturday, April 26, 2025 at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Minneapolis.
