Acolyte Training

Acolyte Training

Calling all youth!

If you’re looking for an active, hands-on role in our Sunday worship services and a chance to serve alongside an amazing team of youth, lay adults, and clergy, we’d love to welcome you to the acolyte team.

Acolytes play an important role in worship by carrying the cross and torches, lighting candles, assisting at the altar, and helping lead the congregation through the liturgy. If you’re a rising 3rd grader or older, you’re invited to join us for our first acolyte training of the program year on Sunday, August 23, from 11:30 AM–12:15 PM in the nave.

Already an experienced acolyte? We’d love to have you join us as well! This training is a great refresher and an opportunity to serve as a senior “buddy” for our newest acolytes.

Serving as an acolyte is a wonderful way to deepen your understanding of worship and the traditions of the Episcopal Church while building confidence, friendships, and a stronger sense of belonging in the St. Stephen’s community.
