Casa Maria Service Day

Casa Maria Service Day

Join us as we serve with one of our new outreach partners, Casa Maria, a ministry of St. Nicolas Episcopal Church in Richfield.

Casa Maria is a safe place for neighbors to gather, receive groceries and clothing, and network with others about health care options, employment, and housing. Everyone is welcome! Many of the visitors are Spanish-speaking immigrants from Richfield, Bloomington, Minneapolis, and other adjacent communities.

We will be serving by helping to set up their Saturday grocery and clothing give-away. Volunteers do not need to be spanish speaking but if you are, that’s great! It’s also a fun away to practice your spanish if you want to try out some conversational skills.

The work begins at 9:00 AM and goes for a few hours until everything is ready for the visitors who will arrive when the doors open for the giveaway at 1:00 PM.

VOLUNTEER

Our work begins at 9:00 AM and goes for a few hours until everything is ready for the visitors who will arrive when the doors open for the giveaway at 1:00 PM.

Casa Maria Drivers needed! Casa Maria feeds 350 families a month and they are seeking help in picking up the food at VEAP, another outreach partner of our parish.  We are looking to partner with St. John’s Episcopal Church in Linden Hills by covering one Saturday pickup each month. Drivers (ages 25-75) must have a valid MN drivers’ license and no moving violations for 3 years. The shift is 9:45-11:00 AM. Questions? Contact Rev. Christy with questions or to sign up.
