Join the M-MADNESS! 🏆

A Seriously Friendly Lenten Competition

Looking for a fun, all-ages way to journey through Lent and learn about inspiring saints along the way? Jump into Lent Madness—a global, tongue-in-cheek (but deeply meaningful!) competition that’s equal parts learning, laughter, and holy bragging rights.

Here’s how it works:
Thirty-two saints face off in a single-elimination tournament. Voters around the world decide who advances, matchup by matchup, until one saint outlasts them all and is crowned with the coveted Golden Halo. Your job? Fill out a bracket predicting the winners and see how you stack up.

There’s no cost to play—but pride is on the line. Get your bracket in by Ash Wednesday, February 18 for maximum points! The St. Stephen’s participant with the highest score earns the undying admiration of a supportive (and slightly impressed) congregation… and maybe even a prize or two.

All ages welcome! Here’s how to join:

1️⃣ Get a bracket

  • Download a bracket or

  • Pick one up at church at Lent Madness Command Central (aka the bulletin board outside the Commons Room) on Sunday mornings.

2️⃣ Fill it out

  • Write your name and email on your bracket.

  • Learn about this year’s saints at lentmadness.org (or with a little help from Google).

3️⃣ Submit your bracket

Choose the option that’s easiest for you:

  • 📸 Take a photo and email/text it to Fr. Tom at tcook@ststephens.com, or

  • 📬 Drop it off at the Church Office or at Lent Madness Command Central.

Deadline: Get your bracket in by Ash Wednesday, February 18 to earn all possible points.

Bracket submitted—now what?

VOTE!

Beginning February 19, head to lentmadness.org each weekday during Lent and vote for the saint you think should advance. We’ll share St. Stephen’s parish results weekly, so you can track your progress (and talk a little friendly smack).
