The Bible is filled with inspiring stories of courageous people who remained faithful to God in difficult, and even terrifying, times. We witness them speaking truth, risking their lives to save others, and defying oppressive regimes. They have much to teach us about how to remain faithful to God during our difficult days, to act with courage, trust, and perseverance.
Join us for a 4-part Lenten Compass series, Faithful People in Difficult Times, when we’ll meet some of our bravest spiritual ancestors, women and men whose voices and actions still speak to us today.
Series Schedule: This series will be held on the following Sundays from 9-10 AM.
- March 9 – Moses’ Mother and Two Midwives: Defiant Women Who Changed History
- March 16 – Joshua: Military Commander with No Weapons
- March 23 – Mary, Jesus’ Mother: A Vulnerable Teenager Who Volunteers as God’s Servant

Adult Forum presents Compass
Compass, led by Joyce Denham, is our Sunday morning Adult Formation class in which we study the literature of the Bible as our compass for life. Compass is for everyone at St. Stephen’s, and beyond. Invite others! It’s a place to make friends, laugh, and stretch our minds, as Joyce unravels the narratives and poetry of the Bible to discover what they have to say to us today. No registration is needed.
